Is the RadioMaster TX15 Max Worth Buying?
The RadioMaster TX15 Max is best suited to pilots who want the color touchscreen and fast interface of a premium radio without carrying the larger TX16S. It is particularly attractive for Boxer users who want a modern H7 processor, color telemetry display and selectable 2.4GHz or 900MHz ExpressLRS.
The Max version does not provide more RF power, processing speed or ELRS capability than the standard TX15. Its main upgrades are the AG02 CNC aluminum gimbals, RGB gimbal rings, aluminum controls and carbon-fiber-look faceplate. Therefore, the Max is worth the additional cost when stick feel, external adjustment and premium construction matter to you. The standard TX15 remains the better-value option for pilots satisfied with V5.0 Hall gimbals.
RadioMaster lists the same H7 processor, screen, LR1121 ELRS system, storage and battery compatibility for both models.

Pilot Review
In RC-SOAR’s hands-on review, the TX15 Max weighed approximately 800g with batteries, compared with 930g for the reviewer’s TX16S with AG01 gimbals. The sculpted grips and correctly positioned neck-strap hook remained comfortable over extended use.
The AG02 gimbals felt smooth with clearly defined centers. EdgeTX’s analog monitor showed excellent center and endpoint repeatability with virtually no visible jitter. The factory-installed springs felt too soft to this particular reviewer, but firmer springs are included in the package.
During an approximately one-hour F3F glider test using an ER6 receiver and GPS sensor, the logged VFR remained close to 100%, with only occasional brief drops to 95%. This is useful evidence from one specific line-of-sight flight—not a universal maximum-range test.
Understanding the TX15 Max ELRS System
The internal LR1121 module supports both 2.4GHz and Sub-G 900MHz, but the TX15 Max uses one frequency at a time. The band is selected through the ExpressLRS LUA tool, and the receiver must support the same frequency.
Choose 2.4GHz for most FPV racing, freestyle, tiny-whoop and everyday drone builds.
Choose Sub-G 900MHz when using a matching 868/915MHz receiver for compatible long-range or RF-challenging applications.
Choose the TX16S MK3, GX12 or an external Nomad module if you specifically need Gemini/Xrossband simultaneous dual-band transmission.
