ELRS and 4-in-1 Versions for Flexible Receiver Compatibility

Choose the ELRS version if your FPV drone uses a compatible 2.4GHz ExpressLRS receiver and you want a modern low-latency control link. Choose the 4-in-1 version if you need broader receiver compatibility across multiple RC protocols. Before checkout, confirm your receiver protocol, firmware version, region option, and binding setup to make sure your RadioMaster TX16S Mark II Max matches your aircraft.

Buying Guide: RadioMaster TX16S Mark II Max

MEPSKING Expert Review

The RadioMaster TX16S Mark II Max is best suited to pilots who want a full-size EdgeTX radio with a large touchscreen, extensive physical controls and support for many different model types. It is particularly useful for pilots managing FPV drones, fixed-wing aircraft, helicopters and other RC models from one transmitter.

In the hands-on review, the AG01 gimbals felt smooth and controlled during both thumb and pinch operation. The improved knobs and sliders made their center positions easier to identify, while the 4.3-inch touchscreen made EdgeTX model setup more accessible.

The main physical trade-off is size and weight. Pilots with smaller hands may find the TX16S bulky, and the heavier AG01 version benefits from a neck strap during long sessions. The included flat and raised rear grips allow some adjustment to the holding position.

Owner feedback also highlights a learning curve. New users should expect to spend time learning EdgeTX, receiver binding, mixes and telemetry. It is a radio to grow into rather than the simplest first-day transmitter.

Best BuyerMost pilots seeking the best valueExperienced pilots prioritizing premium stick feel

Choose the V4.0 Hall gimbals if you want reliable centering, external adjustment and lower cost. They are accurate enough for most FPV, fixed-wing and simulator users.

Choose AG01 if the CNC construction, bearing-supported movement and premium mechanical feel justify the additional cost and weight. The practical improvement in flying is subtle, so AG01 should mainly be purchased for feel and construction quality.

Should You Choose ELRS or 4-in-1?

Choose the internal ELRS version when most of your current and future FPV drones use compatible 2.4GHz ExpressLRS receivers. This provides the most straightforward setup for a modern ELRS fleet.

Choose the internal 4-in-1 version when you own models using several supported legacy protocols such as compatible FrSky, FlySky, DSM or other multiprotocol receivers. An external ELRS module can be added through the JR-compatible module bay.

The current MEPSKING options are marked FCC. Buyers in regions using LBT firmware should confirm local requirements and receiver firmware compatibility before ordering.

TX16S Mark II Max or TX16S MK3?

Choose the Mark II Max when you need the internal 4-in-1 module, prefer the established Mark II platform or specifically want AG01 gimbals. It remains useful for pilots managing older and newer models from one radio.

For an ELRS-only flagship radio, compare it with the newer RadioMaster TX16S MK3. The MK3 adds an H7 processor, 5-inch screen and Gemini dual-band ELRS.

Battery Options

Batteries are not included. Use two matched RadioMaster 18650 batteries in the included tray, or choose the RadioMaster 2S 5000mAh battery for longer operating time.

Final Purchase Recommendation

Buy the RadioMaster TX16S Mark II Max if you want a premium full-size transmitter with extensive controls, EdgeTX touchscreen operation, JR module expansion and a choice between ELRS or 4-in-1 receiver compatibility.

For most buyers, V4.0 Hall gimbals provide the better value. Select AG01 when premium mechanical feel is a priority. Pilots wanting a smaller transmitter should compare the models in the MEPSKING radio controller collection.

Been flying FPV for years and this is easily one of the best radios I’ve owned. The AG01-style feel on the M2 gimbals is insanely smooth, switches feel premium, and the large screen makes setup way less annoying compared to older radios. Honestly feels like a serious upgrade the second you pick it up. Bought it from MEPSKING and the whole experience was surprisingly solid too — fast shipping, good packaging, and their support team actually replied with useful info instead of copy-paste answers lol. Everything arrived sealed and worked right out of the box. Definitely not a cheap transmitter, but if you fly regularly, it’s 100% worth it.

This is a great radio, easy to use touch screen and settings.I am setting up sounds and splash screens. I have been flying it for a couple weeks now and I love it. There is one thing the switches on the left side the arm switch and the one next to it are kinda close. Hard to get your finger in
