BETAFPV Matrix 1S Brushless Flight Controller (3IN1/4IN1)

About BETAFPV Matrix 1S Brushless Flight Controller:

The Matrix 1S Brushless Flight Controller redefines 1S whoop performance with two purpose-driven architectures: the 3IN1 for DJI O4 digital dominance (integrating FC, ESC, and ELRS 2.4G RX while omitting analog OSD), and the 4IN1 for analog mastery (adding built-in OSD + solder pads for external VTXs). Both feature the iconic cross-design architecture, newly developed BEC, 18A peak ESCs, and the STM32G473 MCU for 55% faster processing—delivering effortless setup, pro-tier control, and uncompromised flight dynamics that rewrite 1S standards.

Enhanced Continuous 12A ESC

HD image transmission adds weight to 1S whoops, demanding stronger power and higher ESC overcurrent capacity. Our engineers exceeded expectations, delivering a robust ESC with 12A continuous output and 18A peak capacity on the iconic "cross" flight controller. This ensures optimal thrust-to-weight ratio, reliable performance, and worry-free high-definition flights.

Ultra-Low Voltage Support, Zero Blackouts

High-performance digital VTX requires consistent current, especially on 1S whoops where voltage can drop to 3.3V. Our advanced BEC is engineered to deliver a powerful 3A output even at ultra-low voltages down to 2.85V. This ensures a stable, flicker-free image transmission during critical low-battery moments, giving you the best chance to recover your drone safely.

How to Use Serial Ports, Intergrated RX and VTX

UART3 is connected to the built-in serial ELRS RX. To release UART3, please remove the resistor. Additionally, this FC reserves 2 complete full-featured serial ports that can be used for external serial receivers, GPS, HD VTX, or other serial devices. You can refer to the picture below.

BETAFPV Matrix 1S 4IN1 Brushless Flight Controller Buying Guide

Why Choose the Matrix 1S 4IN1?

A Tiny Whoop may be small, but its flight controller has to handle several demanding jobs at once.

The Matrix 1S 4IN1 integrates the flight controller, 1S ESC and ELRS receiver while providing analog OSD support and solder pads for an external VTX. This makes it a practical choice for pilots who want to build or upgrade an analog 1S whoop without adding separate receiver and FC boards.

Designed for Analog 1S Tiny Whoops

The biggest reason to choose the 4IN1 version is its analog FPV architecture.

The board includes an AT7456E OSD chip and dedicated solder pads for an external analog VTX. This allows pilots to select their preferred analog camera and VTX instead of being locked into an integrated digital video system.

That makes it particularly suitable for lightweight whoops where analog FPV remains popular because of its low weight, low latency and simple hardware requirements.

It also lists 0702 II, 0802SE and 1102 motors as compatible motor options, with propeller recommendations ranging from 31mm to 45mm depending on the build.

Recommended Motor Selection

Motor ClassBest PlatformMain Priority
070265mm ultralight whoopMinimum weight
080265–75mm whoopBalance of weight and thrust
110275mm / heavier 1S buildHigher thrust and payload capability

Choosing the Right Propeller

PropellerTypical UseFlight Character
31mm 3-blade65mm ultralight whoopLight and responsive
35mm 3-blade65–75mm whoopBalanced thrust
45mm 3-blade75mm whoopHigher thrust

Smaller propellers generally suit lightweight 65mm builds, while larger propellers can provide more lift for heavier 75mm platforms.

When changing propeller size, remember that the motor load also changes. A larger or more aggressive propeller can increase current demand significantly.

The key is to keep the complete build balanced. A larger motor or battery can provide more thrust or flight time, but the additional weight can reduce the agility that makes a Tiny Whoop fun to fly.

Final Recommendation

The BETAFPV Matrix 1S 4IN1 Brushless Flight Controller is best understood as a high-capability 1S analog AIO platform rather than simply another Tiny Whoop flight controller.

Its combination of a STM32G473 168MHz MCU, 12A continuous / 18A peak ESC, onboard ELRS 2.4GHz receiver, 16MB Blackbox, 5V/3A BEC and AT7456E analog OSD gives it a strong hardware foundation for modern 1S analog builds.

For a lightweight 65mm build, pair it with 0702 or 0802 motors and 31–35mm propellers.

For a larger 75mm build, move toward 0802 or 1102 motors with 35–45mm propellers.

The most straightforward setup is:

Matrix 1S 4IN1 + 0702/0802 motors + 1S 300–450mAh battery + 31–35mm 3-blade props + analog camera/VTX + ELRS 2.4GHz

If you want an analog Tiny Whoop with stronger ESC headroom, integrated ELRS, advanced processing and flexible VTX compatibility, the Matrix 1S 4IN1 is a much more capable choice than a basic 1S 5A AIO.
