Is the MEPS SZ2207 V2 Worth the Upgrade?
For a new 5-inch racing build, the MEPS SZ2207 V2 is the better choice over the original SZ2207. It retains the proven 2207 stator and uni-bell concept while refining the bell structure, strengthening the support arms and adding a more secure anti-slip propeller mount.
The result is an evolutionary upgrade rather than a completely different motor. If your V1 motors are still running smoothly, replacing an entire working set is not essential. However, the V2 is the more sensible purchase for a new build, a replacement set or pilots who regularly crash during racing practice.
The current product page confirms that both generations use a uni-bell design, while the V2 adds internal refinements for smoother throttle response, thicker arms and an upgraded propeller grip.

Pilot's Review
In Curly FPV’s field test, a pre-production SZ2207 V2 1750KV set was installed immediately after flying a comparable 1810KV motor on the same 5-inch quad. From a beginner pilot’s perspective, the SZ2207 V2 felt smooth, predictable and surprisingly close to the more expensive motor in normal flight.
The reviewer did not experience a hard crash during the test, so the video does not prove long-term durability. The sample was also supplied by MEPS, which should be disclosed when referencing the review. The most useful conclusion is that the motor produced a smooth, usable flight feel at a more accessible price—not that it outperformed every premium motor.
A second hands-on inspection noted the clean anodizing, flexible pre-tinned wires, included mounting hardware and straightforward soldering process.
